In the East Kazakhstan Region (EKR), a pig farm has been brought to administrative responsibility following an inspection by the department of ecology.
According to the press service of the department, the enterprise LLP «VK-Bekon», which houses around 8,000 pigs, violated environmental requirements.
During the inspection, specialists identified the absence of structures for waste dewatering as stipulated by the project, unauthorised discharge of wastewater, and storage of waste on unprepared sites.
The enterprise's actions were classified under Articles 332, 344, 325, 327-1 and 328 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which provide for liability for violation of environmental standards, requirements for waste management, and discharge of pollutants.
The inspection materials have been sent to the administrative court of Ust-Kamenogorsk, where the issue of liability measures will be considered.
Recall, earlier it was reported that residents of the Zhetysu region are complaining about foul-smelling waste near the Aksu Sugar Factory.
According to them, waste from beet processing is stored on the adjacent territory, accompanied by a strong odour. Ecologists confirmed the fact of waste dumping, but the enterprise denies its involvement.
