The administration of the electronic diary Kundelik has denied information about a leak of users' personal data. The statement appeared on Kundelik's social media channels following recent publications about a possible database leak in early December.
As reported by platform representatives, information about the alleged leak is being spread via an anonymous Telegram channel, which takes no responsibility for the accuracy of the published information. At present, the fact of a data leak from the Kundelik system has not been confirmed.
The company stated that it is conducting an internal technical review. Until this is completed, any conclusions about the causes and scale of the incident are, in Kundelik's view, premature. Following the review, the platform promises to inform the public further.
It is worth recalling that earlier information appeared online about a leak of Kundelik's user database, an analogue of the Russian system 'Dnevnik.ru'. At least thousands of records were allegedly made publicly available, containing the full names of schoolchildren, dates of birth, names of educational institutions and class details.
The Kundelik platform is owned by its founder Mukhtar Ilyasov and partner Askar Bishigayev, Dinara Kulibayeva and the Russian company LLC 'Dnevnik.ru', on whose technology the Kazakhstani service was built.
Like its Russian prototype, the system regularly faces criticism for its monopoly position in the market, weak protection of personal data and the introduction of paid features.
