It has become known the amounts for which football clubs of the Kazakhstan Premier League (KPL) have signed contracts with regional and city akimats.
According to the Telegram channel Uncle Vanya, this year KPL teams won tenders totalling 25.68 billion tenge.
Tenders for three more contracts are still ongoing on the public procurement website. Two of them, for 187.5 million tenge and 312.5 million tenge, were announced by the Department of Culture and Sports of the Aktobe Region. Another, for 892.9 million tenge, by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Shymkent.
It is expected that after the remaining contracts are signed, local budget spending on clubs in the top division will increase by 1.38 billion tenge, reaching 27.06 billion tenge.
It is noted that this amount does not include the spending of FC Astana, because in recent years the capital's team has been financed from the quasi-public sector – the single operator for the distribution of extra-budgetary funds in the field of sport, Sport Qory.
“The subsidiary organisation, Samruk-Kazyna JSC, will only announce its spending on maintaining professional clubs next year. Therefore, one can only guess about the financing of FC Astana. However, as indicated in previous reports, last season the fund spent 5.3 billion tenge for these purposes. And the year before that, 4.8 billion tenge”, the statement said.
It is reported that at the same time, FC Aktobe signed a 3-year contract with the regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports for a total of 5.712 billion tenge.
Meanwhile, journalists have released information on the volume of funding for Kazakh football from local budgets in 2024:
- Professional Football Club Ordabasy JSC - 5.3 billion tenge (87.1% of the region's total spending on sport);
- Regional Football Club Aktobe JSC - 4.55 billion tenge (40.1%);
- Football Club Elimai Public Foundation - 2.341 billion tenge (72%);
- Football Club Kyzylzhar SK LLP - 2 billion tenge (51.5%);
- Regional Football Team Atyrau LLP – 1.9 billion tenge (29%);
- Football Club Tobol Public Foundation - 1.647 billion tenge (46.9%)
- Kyzylorda Regional Football Club Kaisar LLP - 1.636 billion tenge (70.6%) ;
- FC Zhenis LLP - 1.599 billion tenge (28.9%);
- Professional Football Club Turan State Public Communal Enterprise - 1.399 billion tenge (24.7%);
- Football Club Zhetysu State Public Communal Enterprise - 1.396 billion tenge (32.7%);
- Football Club Shakhter JSC - 1.2 billion tenge (17.1%);
- Football Club Kairat LLP - 0.75 billion tenge (3.2%).
It will be recalled that in January it was reported that the Kyzylorda football club Kaisar is planned to be transferred to trust management with a subsequent buyout over 5 years. The starting price of the lot was 1.6 billion tenge. The initial payment was 252.9 million tenge.
In early October, former players and employees of the State Communal Enterprise Football Club Kaspiy secured the payment of their wages from the enterprise through the courts. The FC owed them millions of tenge.
At the same time, it became known that players of the football club Kaisar, which is financed by the state, had not been paid their wages for several months.
In November, the president of the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF), Adilet Barmenkulov, announced his resignation from the post. The FBRK editorial team has repeatedly written that Barmenkulov's activities as KFF president regularly come under criticism from football fans and even raise suspicions among UEFA leadership.
