The Anti-Corruption Service has taken an interest in the head of the state inspection committee in the agricultural industrial complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is likely that Darkhan Abdikarimov is being referred to.
This was reported by the founder of the FBRK, Kirill Pavlov. It is assumed that the official is suspected of receiving a bribe in the procurement of locust control products bypassing competitive procedures.
It is worth noting that Abdikarimov has headed the state inspection committee since June 2024. His entire professional career has been linked to agriculture.
Over the years, he has led the plant protection state inspection department, the agriculture department, and the territorial inspection in the Kostanay region.
In July, Abdikarimov stated that when controlling locusts, it is absolutely impermissible to completely eradicate them, as this could disrupt the stable ecosystem chain.
