Head of the Housing and Utilities Department illegally distributed land in the Akmola region

The specialised environmental prosecutor's office of the Akmola Region has uncovered an instance of the illegal provision of a land plot for a city beach in Kosshy valued at 47.6 million tenge.

According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, in June 2024, the head of the Department of Housing and Communal Services and Housing Inspection of Kosshy transferred a beach, located along the Sarkyrama river, to a local entrepreneur in trust management for five years.

At the same time, the Department of Housing and Communal Services did not have the right to use or dispose of this land plot.

Thus, the head of the department unjustifiably concluded a contract and transferred the land into trust management.

Following a supervisory act by the prosecutor's office, the illegally concluded contract was cancelled, and by decree of the city mayor, disciplinary action was taken against the head of the department for the violations committed.

Furthermore, the agency's staff established facts of illegal seizure of state land plots by installing bridges and fences along the Sarkyrama river. The authorised bodies are carrying out work to return the land plots.
