Half a billion for the renovation of a police station in the village of Katon-Karagai is to be awarded without a tender?

An anonymous tip was submitted to the FBRC bot stating that the akimat of the Katon-Karagay District in the East Kazakhstan Region intends to carry out repairs to the local police station for more than half a billion tenge

The FBRC editorial team decided to find out more about the planned procurement.

The district department of architecture, urban planning and construction plans to purchase services for the major overhaul of the police station in the village of Katon-Karagay.

The total amount approved for the procurement from the district budget funds came to more than 583 million tenge

In addition, the district akimat has planned the procurement of technical supervision services for the site for around 14 million tenge, as well as author's supervision services for approximately 2.5 million tenge

It is worth noting that all three procurements are intended to be carried out through direct contract award

The police building in the village of Katon-Karagay was built back in the early 1980s, and the last repair work was carried out several decades ago.

Repairs to the village police station were again discussed last year during the visit of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Marat Akhmetzhanov.

At the same time, the akim of the East Kazakhstan Region, then Yermek Kosherbayev, promised to resolve the issue of the extraordinary allocation of budget funds for the repair of the dilapidated police building.

Now the work is finally set to be carried out over the next few years. It is simply unclear why the contract for the building repair is intended to be awarded from a single source

The FBRC editorial team has sent an official request to the district department of architecture, urban planning and construction to find out the reason the department chose this particular method of contract award.

Let us remind you that quite recently it became known that officials in the East Kazakhstan Region unlawfully concluded contracts from a single source for emergency response, worth 1.4 billion tenge.
