In the Zhusandaly protected area of the Zhambyl district, Almaty region, a group of poachers was detained, among whom was an employee of the Kurtinsky forestry enterprise.
According to ORDA, the forester acted with three accomplices. In the suspect's official vehicle, the carcass of a goitered gazelle (listed in the Red Book), three hares, rifles, cartridges, a searchlight, and a knife were found.
The police have opened a criminal case regarding the illegal handling of rare and endangered animals.
Recall that in January 2024, police officers of the Zhambyl region detained a poacher who shot a goitered gazelle. He turned out to be a local resident who went on an illegal hunt claiming it was to provide himself with food. The damage to the state was estimated at 4,430,400 tenge.
In May, the man was sentenced to 3 years suspended, with a ban on engaging in hunting activities for 7 years.
