The former chief transport prosecutor of Kazakhstan Maksat Duisenov, who was described as the right-hand man of the former Prosecutor General Kairat Kozhamzharov, has been detained in Germany. His whereabouts were established by German law enforcement agencies at the request of the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to Informburo.kz, German law enforcement authorities took him into custody as part of international cooperation procedures.

"At the request of the NCB of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, citizen D., who was on the international wanted list, was detained in the city of Fürth (Germany)," reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It should be recalled that Maksat Duisenov was placed on the international wanted list at the beginning of September. The article under which the case against the former prosecutor is being investigated has not been disclosed, however some journalists claim that the investigation may be linked to instances of torture.

Incidentally, shortly after this information, it became known that Maksat's younger brother — Askat Duisenov — owns expensive property in Dubai worth $5 million (2.7 billion tenge).
