The deputy commander-in-chief of the National Guard of Kazakhstan has been detained by police.
According to zakon.kz, he is suspected of committing an unlawful act. The specific offence in question has not been disclosed.
“At the moment, investigative actions are being carried out by the competent authorities jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Ministry expresses its principled position of zero tolerance for any manifestations of corruption within its ranks, and therefore an objective and comprehensive investigation will be conducted within the framework of current legislation”, the department reported.
