Cultural centres and a university branch were opened by Tokayev and Xi Jinping

The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jinping took part in the ceremony to officially open a number of facilities. According to the press service of Akorda, the presidents officially opened cultural centres: one for Kazakhstan in Beijing and one for China in Astana.

"The opening of these centres marks a new stage in the development of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. The centres will serve as venues for various cultural events, exhibitions, lectures and masterclasses aimed at strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples of the two friendly nations," the statement reads.

The heads of state also opened a branch of Beijing Language and Culture University at Astana International University.

"Cooperation between the Kazakh and Chinese universities will provide students with unique opportunities for learning and professional growth, and will help develop language skills, intercultural communication, and scientific research. The successful implementation of these projects is expected to be an important step towards boosting cultural and educational exchanges, as well as developing political and economic relations between the two countries," the press service of the President reported.
