On 1 October, the body of a deceased young woman and an unconscious police officer were discovered at a local police station in the Mikhailovka microdistrict of Karaganda. The district inspector, a police major, was taken to intensive care in a coma. A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident.

According to information from open sources, the senior district inspector arrived at the police station and found the body of a naked young woman with no signs of life in one room, and in another service room, his colleague unconscious at his desk. The district inspector was immediately hospitalised at a medical facility.

The police station has been cordoned off with barrier tape, and entry to unauthorised persons is prohibited, reports the Telegram channel “Patriot”. The head of the Karaganda police department, Shahnazar Sain, visited the scene. According to some reports, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs is also heading to the regional centre.

The Police Department of the Karaganda Region confirmed the discovery of the woman’s body and the hospitalisation of the law enforcement officer.

At the same time, department representatives are asking the public not to spread unverified theories, in particular information that the district inspector was under the influence of unknown substances. The cause of the young woman’s death and the circumstances under which the officer lost consciousness will be determined following forensic examinations.

The head of the regional police department, Negmet Ismagulov, has taken personal charge of the case. In an official comment, he stated:

“A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the discovery of a female citizen’s body at one of the police stations. The circumstances of the incident and the cause of death are currently being established. The police officer found unconscious at the scene has been taken to a medical facility.”

A special investigative and operational group has been formed for an objective review of all circumstances. An internal investigation has also been ordered to determine whether any violations were committed by law enforcement officers. Investigative actions include interviewing witnesses, inspecting the scene, and conducting necessary forensic examinations.

“All actions will be thoroughly investigated, and those responsible will be held strictly accountable. I urge citizens to refrain from spreading false information,” emphasised Negmet Ismagulov.

Official versions of what happened have not yet been released. The results of medical examinations and the internal investigation are expected to shed light on the circumstances of the tragedy.

The leadership of the police department has promised to ensure full transparency in the investigation and to hold all those responsible accountable if violations of the law or official regulations are established.
