A female courier involved in a fraudulent scheme has been sentenced in Astana. It is reported that she collected money from deceived citizens and, keeping 10% of the amount for herself, sent the rest to the offender's account.

"The verdict established that the fraudster informed the victim by phone that her daughter had been involved in a fatal road accident and that money needed to be handed over to resolve the matter favourably. Using this scheme, the fraudster deceived two victims, obtaining over 1 million tenge," the press service of the Astana prosecutor's office reported.

It became known that the courier found the job advertisement via a Telegram channel.
