At the boarding school in the village of Besikty, Atyrau region, a black oily substance was discovered last year. However, there is now more of it, and it has started seeping up from under the ground.
"At first there was only a small amount, and we covered it with sand. But this year, more and more liquid has been leaking from the soil.", says the school's headteacher.
According to the Telegram channel "ATYRAU ONLINE", the school administration contacted the department of ecology.
The department, in turn, sent letters to the local mayor's office to carry out work to clean the area of the unknown liquid.
"Following the inspection, letters were sent to the city police department to determine the source of the oil-based liquid and to take action against those responsible.", the press service of the ecology department reported.
