The Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition (APDC) in the Atyrau region has launched an antitrust investigation into Batys Petroleum LLP, which is linked to businessman Timur Kulibayev.
According to the Telegram channel PetroCouncil.kz, department officials found that the company had inflated prices for the repair of tank wagons used for transporting petroleum products.
If the violation is confirmed, antitrust measures will be applied to the company, including a fine of 3-5% of annual turnover, confiscation of monopoly income, and an order to reduce prices to an economically justified level.
Meanwhile, ORDA reports that the sole owner of Batys Petroleum is Petroleum LLP, which is owned by three other legal entities: PTC Holding, Eridan Invest LLP, and Neoholding LLP.
It is noted that Timur Kulibayev controls PTC Holding through his company, Joint Technologies LLP.
The other co-owner of Petroleum, Neoholding LLP, is owned by three co-owners: Joint Technologies LLP, the Dutch company ADNTS Holding B.V. (also linked to Kulibayev), and businessman Daniyar Abulgazin.
