In 2024, police identified 38 criminal offences and 633 administrative violations in the sphere of legal narcotic drug trafficking.
According to Polisia.kz, these included 46 cases of illegal pharmaceutical activity and 260 violations of its regulations and the handling of medicinal products.
More than 500 officials, including 226 medical workers, were held administratively liable.
For example, in the Turkestan region, a driver was detained after nearly 2,500 tablets of Tramadol were found in his car, purchased from one of the major pharmacy chains using forged prescriptions.
As it became known, this drug belongs to the opioid group of narcotics and is included in the list of narcotic substances.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds managers and employees of pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies of the need to strictly comply with the legislation regulating the circulation of narcotic and psychotropic substances used in medicine. Violations in this area entail criminal liability," noted Kuandyk Alzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Combating Drug Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Let us recall that in November last year, law enforcement officers restricted the circulation of over 44,000 tablets, 14,000 ampoules of psychoactive drugs, and 3,000 tonnes of precursors that could be used in the manufacture of synthetic drugs, due to violations of storage conditions.
