Kazakhstan's roads are wearing out faster due to heavy lorries.
Since the beginning of May 2026, several vehicles have been damaged on the Almaty–Khorgos highway due to the deformation of concrete slabs on the roadway. According to journalist Mikhail Kozachkov, one of the key causes of rapid road wear is overloaded heavy dump trucks, and solving the problem will require changes in the freight transport sector.
