Information has emerged online that one of the officials of the AMANAT party in the Zhetysu region has been detained on suspicion of paedophilia.
According to ORDA, the head of the Aksu district branch of the AMANAT party, and a deputy of the district maslikhat, Serikkan Zhakupov, is suspected of committing violent acts of a sexual nature against a seven-year-old child.
It is reported that the forensic examination confirmed the assault. A pre-trial investigation is underway. Meanwhile, the AMANAT branch stated that Zhakupov no longer works for the party bodies.
"Regarding the former head of the Aksu district branch of the party in the Zhetysu region, we report that he resigned of his own accord, submitting his resignation on 1 August this year," the statement said.
It has become known that Zhakupov lives in the village of Zhansugurov in the Aksu district of the Zhetysu region. He was elected as a deputy of the district maslikhat on 31 March 2024.
