A scandal is brewing in Aktau around a private correctional centre, Victory-A, where the mother of a six-year-old boy with special educational needs has alleged violence by a coach. The catalyst was CCTV footage which, according to the woman, shows the mistreatment of her child.
WHAT THE MOTHER ALLEGES
According to the Telegram channel «HALYQSTAN», the boy's mother, Raissa Maratkyzy, said she contacted the centre's management after noticing bruises on her son. She stated that she requested the CCTV footage.
The woman claims that the video shows a gym coach named Nurdaulet handling the child roughly.
«Coach Nurdaulet sat on his phone almost all the time. When my child ended up on the floor, he started shouting at him, frightening him, hit him on the head, and kicked him in the stomach. After that, my son sat in the corner with his hands over his ears, crying in fear, while the coach kept looking at his phone,» said Raissa Maratkyzy.
THE INCIDENT IN THE ROOM WITHOUT CAMERAS
According to the woman, other recordings show the child being taken to a room without surveillance cameras.
She claims the video shows the boy first using a treadmill, then getting tired and stepping off. She alleges the coach then began scolding the child and led him into a room without video surveillance.
According to the mother, the recording ends there. The materials do not specify what happened next.
RESPONSE FROM POLICE AND AUTHORITIES
Following the publication of the videos, the police of the Mangystau region took an interest in the situation.
According to available information, representatives of local executive bodies and child protection agencies also visited the correctional centre.
