In the town of Khromtau, Aktobe Region, a man sustained gunshot wounds after a conflict in which, according to preliminary data, a police officer may be involved. The victim is in intensive care.
WHAT IS KNOWN
As reported by Polites News, at approximately 23:10 on 28 March, police received a report about a man with gunshot wounds. The information was relayed by the ambulance service.
According to preliminary data, the incident occurred on the grounds of the "A-FRAME" glamping site in the town of Khromtau.
It is believed that the conflict arose from a verbal argument, and a police officer may be involved, who, according to preliminary information, used his service weapon.
CONDITION OF THE VICTIM
The victim, a man born in 1989, was taken to the Central District Hospital of the Khromtau District. He is in the intensive care unit.
COURSE OF THE INVESTIGATION
Meanwhile, the police department reported that the victim's condition is assessed as satisfactory.
"In connection with this incident, the police department has initiated a criminal case. The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. The victim has been hospitalised in a medical facility, and his condition is satisfactory. All necessary investigative measures are currently being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident," reads a statement from the police department of the Aktobe Region.
The police also reminded the public of the responsibility for disseminating knowingly false information.
WHAT THE VICTIM'S RELATIVES REPORTED
The victim's relatives shared their version of events with Ulysmedia.kz.
According to the man's sister, a police officer who is her brother-in-law may be involved in the incident. She claims that a conflict occurred between them, after which the man may have used a weapon.
"They say he shot until the ammunition ran out. There was a conflict between them beforehand. He is a local police inspector; when he returned from work, he shot my brother. He has eight wounds," she said.
The family also reported that they are not receiving full information about the victim's condition and cannot visit him in the hospital.
