Акимат Бостандыкского района опубликовал отчет об уборке мусора с ИИ-фотографиями

A resident of Almaty has claimed that the akimat of the Bostandyk district used edited images in response to a complaint about rubbish near school No. 125. The publication alleges that the rubbish in the photos was removed using artificial intelligence (AI).

HOW THE COMPLAINT AROSE

A user on Threads published photos of an area in the Bostandyk district opposite school No. 125.

Later, the akimat's account posted a response stating that the issues had been resolved by the district's municipal services. Photos of the same area were attached to the reply.

WHAT USERS NOTICED

The author of the post claimed that the photos in the akimat's response had been altered. According to her, the images with rubbish were allegedly processed using AI, after which the rubbish disappeared from the frames.

The published screenshots indeed show similar angles of the area before and after the district akimat's response.

Furthermore, Threads itself marked the photos as content using AI.

WHAT THE AKIMAT SAID IN RESPONSE

In the comments under the post, representatives of the district akimat stated that municipal services had carried out rubbish collection work on the site throughout the day. The akimat also said that workers were sent to the location again to sweep the area.

Thus, the akimat claims that the site was physically cleaned by municipal services.

However, the author of the publication said that she later visited the site again and, according to her, some of the rubbish was scattered on the grass, suggesting that waste might have been moved there after the clean-up.
