A female courier, along with her family, left Almaty and returned to Shymkent after the public outcry surrounding her story. This was reported by the First Vice-Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, Yerbol Tuyakbayev.
WHAT THE FIRST VICE-MINISTER REPORTED
According to Yerbol Tuyakbayev, following the publication of stories about the woman, social protection officers promptly contacted the family. They were offered employment measures, but the family independently declined this assistance.
After this, as the First Vice-Minister noted, the family voluntarily left Almaty and moved to Shymkent, where they now live with their parents. According to him, no pressure was put on the family.
WHY THE STORY CAUSED SUCH A WIDESPREAD REACTION
A photograph of the female courier, holding a small child in her arms while working in the hot weather, previously sparked a broad response on social networks. Many users expressed a desire to help the young mother and tried to find her.
Later, the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, Askarbek Yertayev, reported that he had reviewed the family's situation. He stated that the woman's husband works in IT, and that she herself has a secondary specialised education.
WHAT THE MINISTRY RESPONDED
During a briefing, journalists asked Yerbol Tuyakbayev whether it was legal to disseminate such information about the family.
The First Vice-Minister replied that the ministry had not disclosed personal data, as this information, in his words, did not contain specific details that could identify the individual.
Journalists also inquired whether the ministry had apologised after the family faced a negative reaction. Yerbol Tuyakbayev said that no apologies were made. At the same time, he again noted that the family had been offered assistance, which they declined. According to him, if necessary, the family can also seek support in Shymkent.
