In the Akmola Region, a doctor from a district clinic was found guilty of fraud after receiving money from three young men for a promised deferment from military service. The court sentenced him to a term of restriction of liberty.
WHAT THE COURT ESTABLISHED
According to the Tselinograd District Court of the Akmola Region, the criminal case was examined concerning a doctor from the district clinic, M., under paragraph 4 of part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Fraud committed using official position, repeatedly").
The court established that from October to December 2025, the defendant misled three young men, offering them a deferment from military service on the condition of paying for the service.
The victims, N., B., and Kh., transferred 350 thousand tenge each to the doctor's account. As follows from the case materials, the defendant disposed of the received funds at his own discretion.
WHAT HAPPENED IN COURT
During the court proceedings, M. pleaded guilty, repented, and fully compensated the material damage to the victims.
The victims informed the court that they had received full compensation and had no claims against the defendant. The court took these circumstances into account when imposing the sentence.
Among the mitigating circumstances, sincere repentance and admission of guilt were also noted.
WHAT PUNISHMENT THE COURT IMPOSED
By the court's verdict, M. was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months of restriction of liberty. He was also deprived of the right to provide medical services for a period of 1 year.
In addition, probation supervision was established for the convicted person for the entire term of restriction of liberty, with the imposition of duties provided for by legislation.
The verdict has not entered into legal force.
