In Ust-Kamenogorsk, a beauty salon client died after blepharoplasty - an operation to reshape the eyelids.

According to YK-news.kz, the city court sentenced a cosmetologist's assistant, whose injection caused the woman's death. It became known that the defendant was an assistant to the cosmetologist.

After the operation, the cosmetologist asked her to give the patient an injection. However, the client's condition subsequently began to deteriorate.

"Without having a licence for medical practice, A. intramuscularly injected the patient with ceftriaxone mixed with lidocaine, as a test. After the injection, the patient's condition worsened", the court reported.

It was reported that the woman was taken to a medical centre, but they were unable to save her.

Ultimately, the court found the defendant guilty of illegal medical practice and sentenced her to 2.5 years of restricted freedom, with a ban on practising medicine for 3 years.

Recall that earlier in Astana, a man was convicted for providing services of non-traditional Eastern medicine, which negligently resulted in a person's death. Furthermore, the convicted individual did not possess the relevant certificates and licences.

It was also reported that in Taraz, surgeons were sentenced to 4 years' imprisonment for illegal medical practice. Nine people sustained various injuries as a result of their unskilled procedures.
