The Akimat of Almaty does not plan to hold New Year corporate events for its employees.

According to Informburo.kz, this was stated by the city's culture department. The department also reminded that officials are prohibited from accepting material rewards, gifts, or services.

"Bonuses for employees are paid by order of the head of the state body based on a written submission from the heads of independent structural units. At the same time, budget funds are not allocated for the payment of bonuses; payments are made only if there is a saving of budget funds allocated for the maintenance of state bodies. The amount of employee bonuses is determined based on the final amount of the resulting savings of funds allocated for the maintenance of the relevant state body, in strict accordance with the expenditure items specified in the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 29 August 2001 No. 1127", the response states.

Shortly before this, the Akimat of Astana also stated that it does not plan to hold a New Year corporate party for its employees.

At the same time, the city administration noted that, by law, officials are prohibited from accepting gifts, but there is an allowable limit – 2 MCI (7,384 tenge). Additionally, the Akimat spoke about bonuses for its employees.

"Payment of bonuses to administrative civil servants is made based on the results of evaluating their performance at the end of the year, and in cases of dismissal, termination of employment, and rotation, the payment of bonuses to administrative civil servants is made based on the results of evaluating their performance in proportion to the time worked", the Akimat reported.

In turn, the Ministry of Finance emphasised that the state budget does not allocate funds for holding New Year corporate events for employees of state bodies.
