What other assets did Kairat Satybaldy return

Details have emerged about new assets transferred to the state by the nephew of the former president, Kairat Satybaldy

According to the press service of the Asset Return Committee, these include two business centres in Almaty, commercial property, and a luxury home in a prestigious area of Astana. 

It has also been reported that $95,000, seized from Satybaldy during searches, was transferred to a special state fund. 

Furthermore, jewellery, branded watches, exclusive precious items, collector coins, and other luxury goods worth hundreds of millions of tenge were returned to the state. 

Assets in the form of luxury cars, including a Rolls-Royce Cullinan and an Aston Martin, with a total value of 192 million tenge, were returned from the UAE. 

In addition, the transfer of foreign property belonging to Kairat Satybaldy and his relatives, totalling 33 billion tenge, is in its final stages. 

These include: 

  • two expensive villas in Dubai, worth 20 billion tenge; 
  • four luxury apartments on the Côte d'Azur in France, worth 4 billion tenge; 
  • 15 properties in prestigious residential complexes in Moscow, worth 5 billion tenge; 
  • two luxury villas and an apartment in Bodrum and Istanbul (Turkey), worth over 4 billion tenge. 

Recall that earlier it was reported that the total value of assets returned under criminal cases against Kairat Satybaldy amounts to 732.8 billion tenge. These include: 

  • 28.8% of shares in JSC 'Kazakhtelecom' - 93.8 billion tenge
  • JSC 'CTS' - 30.2 billion tenge
  • Equity interests in four companies - 10.3 billion tenge
  • Property assets in Kazakhstan - 158.5 billion tenge
  • Exclusive precious items - 105.39 billion tenge ($230 million)
  • Cash in Kazakhstani accounts - 36.8 billion tenge
  • Cash from Austria - 36.8 billion tenge ($82.1 million)
  • Cash from Liechtenstein - 116.7 billion tenge ($260.5 million)
  • Cash from the UAE - 6.3 billion tenge ($14 million)
  • Cash from Turkey - 2.2 billion tenge ($4.92 million)
  • Sale of securities - 135.8 billion tenge ($300 million)
