In the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF) and a number of football clubs, financial violations have been identified, causing damage of 3 billion tenge

According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the main violations include unjustified bonus payments, misuse of funds during the construction of facilities, dubious player transactions, and the embezzlement of funds allocated for athletes' meals.

It is reported that the federation's previous management unjustifiably paid bonuses to selected employees and athletes totalling over 300 million tenge

Furthermore, during the construction of the KFF administrative building and training base in Talgar, payment was made for work not carried out, amounting to over 350 million tenge. Construction of the base in the Almaty region, which began in 2021, has been completely frozen, and the contractor's accounts have been blocked.

Additionally, prosecutors raised questions about the justification for spending 135 million tenge on the development of strategic documents and standards.

"The documents contain no specific implementation mechanisms, including for attracting private investment, and the club management standard remains unimplemented in practice," the statement said.

Among other things, in the football clubs 'Ordabasy', 'Aktobe' and 'Zhetysu', embezzlement of funds, inflated contract amounts, the sale of players at undervalued prices, and purchases at inflated prices were discovered.

It is noted that the criminal case against former KFF leaders has been referred to the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM).

We recall that the investigation into the former leadership of the Kazakhstan Football Federation was reported in early March. The media suggest that the investigative actions are being conducted against former KFF president Adilet Barmenkulov and his team.

Barmenkulov headed the federation from February 2022 to November 2024. In December, Marat Omarov took over the position. The FBRK editorial team has repeatedly written that Adilet Barmenkulov's activities as president of the KFF were regularly criticised by football fans and even raised doubts within the UEFA leadership.

More information on why the public was dissatisfied with Barmenkulov's work as head of the football federation, which corruption scandals he was involved in, and what business he managed to acquire, can be read at the link.
