The Aktobe Region Prosecutor's Office inspected district hospitals in the region and identified serious violations in financial and medical reporting.
According to the press service of the department, in the Kobda district the volume of medical and diagnostic services provided was unjustifiably inflated through duplication and false entries totalling more than 20 million tenge.
At the same time, local institutions illegally provided outpatient and polyclinic care worth over 45 million tenge without the appropriate licence appendices.
In addition, services worth more than 11 million tenge were provided by employees who did not meet the qualification requirements.
For example, a clerical worker at Kobda District Hospital, lacking a specialised education, conducted over a thousand psychological consultations worth more than 3 million tenge.
Thus, the total amount of unjustified payments from the budget exceeded 80 million tenge.
Following the prosecutor's order, the violations were rectified, budget funds were returned to the state, the rights of local residents were restored, and officials were held to disciplinary and administrative responsibility.
It will be recalled that earlier in Taraz, the deputy head physician and chief accountant of the city multidisciplinary hospital were convicted. The defendants embezzled over 758 million tenge from the medical institution's funds. At the same time, the deputy head physician legalised the criminally obtained funds, generating an income of 4.4 million tenge.
Later, the court in Taraz began hearing the case of the former head physician of the regional centre for AIDS prevention and control, Aibek Isayev. He is suspected of abuse of office and embezzlement of 100 million tenge from the budget.
