In the village of Beskol, North Kazakhstan Region, owners of six plots of land have not been compensated for the construction of a new dam on their property.

According to 24.kz, the villagers were promised payment for the expropriation of the plots, but they have not yet received the funds.

"We have a house with an area of 190 m². An assessment was carried out, with the akimat acting as the client for a sum of 39 million. We fully agree with it. However, there are still no payments. They say there is no money now. You'll get the money in April. But the flood is already here, that's what I'm saying. And my family simply has nowhere to move to. There's nowhere to take all of this. <…> They say to wait at least until the end of March," said one of the village residents.

Meanwhile, the deputy akim of the Kyzylzhar district, Askhat Bakeyev, stated that the total amount of expected compensation is 95.8 million tenge.

"We have now prepared a budget request, as the required funds are not available in the district's budget, so we will settle with them as funds are allocated. That works out to 39 million for Tulegenova, 44 for Chernyshova, and four plots at 3.2 million each," Bakeyev declared.

Incidentally, the full construction of the protective embankment, which is about 7 km long and costs more than 2 billion tenge, has still not been completed. According to the plan, the outer part of the dam will be covered with reinforced concrete slabs.
