In the Irgeli rural district of the Karasai district of the Almaty region, 25,000 residents of the Asyl Arman residential complex were left without electricity. According to Informburo.kz, the residents had always paid their bills on time.
The district akimat reported that on 27 December, electricity was cut off in the Irgeli rural district and the town of Kaskelen due to a debt owed by BeyAzhTrans LLP to AlmatyEnergoSbyt LLP. The debt amounted to 390,752,771 tenge.
After negotiations between the akimat of the Karasai district and the management of BeyAzhTrans LLP, the parties reached an agreement to restore the electricity supply.
"We are coordinating the actions of all parties to minimise the consequences of the disconnection and to prevent similar situations in the future. Legal proceedings are underway regarding the reversal of the privatisation of the BeyAzhTrans LLP's electricity supply infrastructure for the residential complexes 'Asyl Arman' and 'Altyn Auyl', as well as the water supply for other villages in the Karasai district," the statement said.
