The Akim of the Abai region, Nurlan Urankhaev, presented ambitious development plans for Ayagoz District over the coming years during a meeting with local residents.
One of the key investment projects will be the construction of a smelting plant by KAZ Minerals Smelting LLP, which will create 1,083 jobs. This was officially reported by the Akimat of the Abai region.
According to Nurlan Urankhaev, the district occupies a strategic position in the region's economy thanks to the mining sector.
Furthermore, since the establishment of the region in June 2022, significant progress has been made in several areas.
For example, it is reported that road infrastructure has seen significant improvements: 70.2% of roads (288.3 km) are in good or satisfactory condition.
Local authorities have completed repairs to the bridge in Ayagoz on Barak Batyr Street, and begun repairs on the Karaganda – Bogas republican highway on the Ayagoz – Barshatas and Koksala – Bidaik sections.
It is noted that by 2028, several important social initiatives are planned to be implemented in the district.
For instance, two 5-storey, 60-apartment residential buildings are being constructed in the district, with approximately 1.8 billion tenge allocated for these purposes.
Plans include establishing a rehabilitation centre for 150 children with special needs, building a fire station for four vehicles, and opening a new school for 600 pupils in 2025.
Funding of 208.6 million tenge has been allocated for the ongoing repair of 16 schools in the district, and 7 subject-specific classrooms have been purchased.
By 2026, the authorities intend to build sewage treatment facilities in Ayagoz, and by 2027, to construct a heating boiler house.
The Akimat notes that to date, 45 villages and district centres have been provided with drinking water. Under the 'Aul – el besigi' programme, new power lines have been installed in the village of Aktogay, street lighting has been installed in the village of Tarbagatai, and a modern sports ground has been built in the village of Akshi.
To recall, in November of this year, Nurlan Urankhaev spoke at a press conference at the Central Communications Service (CCS) about the measures being taken to develop the housing and communal services sector in the region. More details can be found via this link.
