The soldier avoided punishment for beating conscripts.

In the Mangystau region, a senior sergeant of the fire support company of the 1st assault battalion of military unit 25744 has found himself in the dock. According to the publication "Diapazon", he beat three conscripts.

"The alleged reason for this behaviour was that a private appeared in the barracks corridor without his permission. In another case, he caught a private from the assault battalion using nasvay and for this slapped three conscripts, and punched two more in the head", the report states.

The case was considered under the article "exceeding authority". The accused admitted guilt, but managed to avoid punishment.

"The six servicemen he beat stated that they had no complaints against him and asked for him to be released from criminal liability due to reconciliation of the parties. The court did just that: the senior sergeant, 27-year-old Niyaz A., was released from criminal liability due to reconciliation of the parties", the report states.

Reminder: against the backdrop of increasingly frequent tragic incidents in the army, Kazakh citizens have created a petition to abolish compulsory military service. The authors believe that the abolition of conscription in Kazakhstan is becoming relevant due to the deaths of servicemen in peacetime. Just in September, we wrote about five such incidents.

On 7 September, in a military unit in Aktau, a conscript soldier died as a result of a gunshot to the head. On 13 September, at the Army Ground Forces Military Institute in Almaty, a sergeant committed suicide. On 16 September, in Arys, a contract serviceman from one of the military units received a head wound from a traumatic weapon. On 19 September, an officer from one of the military units of the Ayagoz garrison committed suicide by hanging. On 30 September, a contract soldier from one of the military units of the Aktau garrison took his own life in the apartment where he was living.

Meanwhile, the editorial board of FBIK tried to find out how many people have died in recent years "while serving their country". We sent an official request to the Ministry of Defence asking them to provide data on the number of deaths in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
