Police have identified a number of theft schemes from the country's industrial facilities. In the Pavlodar region, employees of the Aluminium Plant are suspected of stealing metal from the enterprise's premises.
According to Polisia.kz, the defendants were caught red-handed while attempting to remove another batch of metal. The enterprise suffered losses totalling 30 million tenge. It is noted that the criminal case is being investigated on several counts of theft.
Meanwhile, in the Ulytau region, two groups of individuals, including employees of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, were detained on suspicion of stealing material assets.
In the first case, one of the group members is a section head. The suspects were found to have stolen enterprise property worth over 16 million tenge.
In the second group, an accomplice to the crimes is a head of one of the corporation's departments. It is reported that the stolen goods were removed from the enterprise's premises using forged documents. All suspects have been detained.
"It should be noted that the leader and members of one of the groups detained in 2023 for organising the theft of property from Qarmet JSC have been sentenced to long prison terms. Investigations into two other organised criminal groups also involved in thefts from the said enterprise have been completed", the statement reads.
It is worth recalling that in October last year, it was reported that law enforcement agencies had stopped the activities of a group of individuals who had set up a scheme for stealing alloys of precious metals from the territory of the Kazakhmys corporation. The group included enterprise employees. The defendants were caught red-handed while removing stolen products worth approximately 6.5 million tenge.
