New small architectural forms have appeared on the streets of the city of Saran in the Karaganda region — metal structures designed to look like tulips. But instead of delight, local residents have greeted the innovation with bewilderment. On social media, many are writing that the structure looks absurd.

As reported by «Maikuduk.live» citing NV.kz, the tulips were installed by order of the city akimat. There are 100 of them in total. Each item cost the budget 75 thousand tenge, with the total amount being 7.5 million tenge. The project was carried out by a company from Astana.

According to the acting head of the city housing and communal services department, Aydyn Mukhtar, one part of the structures was installed in the park area at the «Sunkar» stadium, and the other along Zhambylla Street.

«All the small architectural forms are made from metal items. In the evening, they are used as lighting,» the report states.

At the same time, it turned out that the contractor has not yet been paid. Officials stated that part of the structures were built with violations and must be redone.
