Residents of Aktau are complaining about a huge landfill near the former residence of the President

In Aktau, residents of neighbourhood 18A are complaining about an illegal dump that stretches for several kilometres along the fence of the former presidential residence.

According to Lada.kz, most of the waste is construction debris and glass bottles.

"These mountains of rubbish stretch for a huge distance. A view from above would make it clear just how serious this is. If Aktau is a tourist paradise, then Dubai and Baku are nervously smoking on the sidelines," say the residents of the neighbourhood.

Local residents are asking for a clean-up day to be held on the site as part of the "Taza Kazakhstan" campaign.

Recall that earlier, the akim of the Mangystau region, Nurdaulet Kilybai, reported that a stadium, a large mosque, and children's playgrounds are planned to be built on the site of the former presidential residence in Aktau.
