A resident of Atyrau was detained while attempting to sell his kidney for 9 million tenge. He has now appeared in court.
According to Kazinform, the man has been charged under articles "Preparation for a crime and attempted crime" and "Coercion to remove or unlawful removal of human organs and tissues".
According to the investigation, in June 2024, the defendant posted an advertisement for the sale of an organ in the Telegram channel "Kidney Donor". Aktobe police officers responded to the message through an intermediary.
"On 14 September 2024, Orynbasarov, while in Atyrau, of his own volition contacted a resident of Aktobe who was working with law enforcement agencies. The parties agreed on a price of 9 million tenge for the kidney", the report states.
As it became known, on 20 September Orynbasarov arrived in Aktobe, where he underwent a medical examination. On 25 September he received an advance payment of 5 million tenge from the buyer, after which he was detained by the police.
During the court hearing, the defendant admitted his guilt and said he had taken such a step due to financial difficulties.
"I had debts. I acted hastily, in a state of anger, left a message in Telegram and immediately left the channel. I used a different name. In September, I was called and asked to take tests. I came to Aktobe and took the tests. I was paid money, they rented a flat. On 25 September I was detained while receiving the money. We agreed on a sum of 9 million tenge. Part of the payment was before the operation, and after the operation I was to be given the remaining amount. I did not count the money, I did not check it", said Orynbasarov.
The man is currently under a written undertaking not to leave the place. It is noted that he has a family and two children.
Recall that in February in Kokshetau, police foiled an attempt to sell a human organ. A native of Aktobe valued his kidney at $18,000 and placed an advertisement on the internet. He offered the organ for sale, stipulating the mandatory condition that the potential buyer must organise the future surgical operation.
