A video is circulating online showing thick bluish smoke coming from the exhaust pipes of cars refuelled at one of the Qazaq Oil stations in the village of Dostyk, Alakol District, Zhetysu Region.
According to Tengrinews.kz, all the cars were filled with AI-95 petrol, after which the engines began to misfire. The footage also shows the fuel has an unusual bluish tint, which reportedly indicates its poor quality.
The Qazaq Oil press service confirmed the incident.
"An incident involving the mixing of petrol and diesel fuel was indeed recorded at the B-446 filling station in the village of Dostyk. The cause was an error made during the fuel discharge — a deviation from the regulations by the contractor and insufficient oversight by the station's responsible employee," said company representative Tolemis Shotanov.
The company noted that the substandard fuel had already been removed and all necessary measures taken to address the consequences. It has emerged that 13 cars were affected as a result of the incident.
"We are in touch with all customers, and each is receiving individual support and compensation," the company added.
