The results of laboratory tests taken following the poisoning of 21 people at the capital's "Koktem" café have been released.
According to Informburo.kz, this information was published by the establishment's representatives. According to them, a product that did not meet sanitary standards entered the café.
"At the same time, we received a conclusion that our kitchen is completely clean, and the source is a batch of raw meat from an external supplier. An official investigation is currently underway involving the Astana City Police Department and the SES. We are cooperating openly with the authorities and have provided all the necessary information," said the establishment's owner, Daniyar Baytokov.
He said that the café destroyed all products, disinfected all equipment and premises, strengthened sanitary standards, retrained staff, and even added a sanitary doctor to the team.
"We will only reopen when we are 100% sure that all processes are safe," noted the café owner.
Recall that earlier in Astana, after lunch at the "Koktem" café, 21 people, including children, sought medical attention at the hospital with suspected poisoning.
