Over 45 billion tenge from the Special State Fund has been allocated for the development of water supply infrastructure to provide rural residents of the North Kazakhstan Region with quality drinking water.
According to the government press service, these funds will be used to implement 48 projects aimed at improving the region's water supply. These include the reconstruction of the Sokolovsky, Bulayevsky and Presnovsky group water pipelines.
In addition, the construction of new water mains and branch lines to rural settlements in the Aiyrtaudistrict and the Shal Akyn district, which are connected to the Kokshetau group water pipeline, is also planned.
Upon completion of the work in the region's villages, it is planned to achieve 100% coverage of the population with quality drinking water.
It has become known that currently the North Kazakhstan Region has the longest network of group water pipelines in the country (over 3,000 km), supplying water to 229 villages with a population of 175,000 people. Access to water supply services in Petropavlovsk is available to 100% of the population, and in villages – to 97.5%.
It should be recalled that earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan continues to implement a large-scale programme for the construction and modernisation of social facilities using funds returned from illegally withdrawn assets.
To date, 406 projects have been approved for a total amount of 318 billion tenge. Of these, 333 projects are already at the implementation stage. It was noted that the main focus has been on the development of education, healthcare, sport and water supply: 9 educational facilities, 3 sports facilities, 162 medical facilities and 159 water infrastructure projects are being built.
