The injured worker from the Bolashak mine at the Donskoy Mining and Processing Plant (MPP) in the Khromtau district of the Aktobe region has died in hospital.
According to Kazinform News Agency, doctors diagnosed him with multiple organ failure. The patient was rushed to the regional multidisciplinary hospital by medical helicopter, but they were unable to save him. In total, three workers sought medical help. Two of them felt better and were discharged home.
Head of the State Labour Inspection Department for the Aktobe region, Zhandos Alimov, noted that establishing the main cause of the incident will take about a month.
Meanwhile, the press service of Kazchrome JSC stated that they will provide full support to the family of the deceased employee.
"For social and material support, including compensation for moral damage, the relatives of the deceased will receive a payment equivalent to 10 years of the employee's average salary, as well as financial assistance for organising funeral arrangements. Additionally, the company will cover the cost of the children's education and, if necessary, will provide employment for one of the family members. The family will also receive payments in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on mandatory insurance of workers against accidents during the performance of their work duties.", the statement reads.
As a reminder, in February a brief ignition of the air environment occurred at the Bolashak mine in the Khromtau district. As a result, four workers sustained burns. Law enforcement officers are conducting a pre-trial investigation into the violation of safety rules during mining or construction work.
