The Prosecutor's Office of the Mangystau Region has uncovered cases of workplace injuries being concealed from law enforcement authorities.
According to the department's press service, for example, officials of one oilfield services company concealed a worker sustaining a serious injury, despite a corresponding conclusion from a doctor. A similar cover-up was established in another accident.
Based on the materials gathered, prosecutors registered criminal cases and sent them to court.
Let us recall that in December last year, a worker died in Aktau at MAEK LLP (Mangystau Atomic Energy Plant). A pipe fell on a repair shop foreman.
The next day, in the Mangystau Region at the "Northern Buzachi" field, an oil and gas production operator died. After the tragedy, the deceased's colleagues recorded a video in which they expressed doubts about the employer's adequate provision of all safety conditions at the workplaces. They demanded a meeting with the general director of the company "Buzachi Operating".
