The Kyzylorda Regional Court has sentenced the former deputy head of the Kyzylorda main gas pipeline management department.
According to the press service of the main transport prosecutor's office, he was found guilty of embezzling more than 279 million tenge through deception and abuse of his official position.
"Over the course of two years, the convicted individual entered into contracts with the contractor companies 'OrdaGlass LTD' LLP and 'HH&B Holding' LLP at inflated prices. Misleading them, he claimed that a significant portion of the funds had been spent on construction and installation work, and that the cost of building materials had risen substantially", the statement said.
The court sentenced the official to 6 years in prison with a lifetime ban from holding positions in the civil service and the quasi-public sector.
