The son of former Majilis chairman Nurlan Nigmatulin – Nurzhan Nurlanov has not been recognised as a suspect in the raiding case.
"On 22 February 2025, the police department of Almaty city initiated a pre-trial investigation into a criminal offence under Part 3 of Article 389 (arbitrariness) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based on a complaint by K. Amirkina. In the said criminal case, N. Nurlanov has not been recognised as a suspect, and therefore no preventive measure has been selected in respect of him", reports the media, citing the Prosecutor General's Office.
It is noted that prior to the January 2022 events, Nurzhan Nurlanov was the General Director of KazMunaiGas-Aero LLP. Previously, from January 2018, he held the post of member of the board of Baiterek NMH JSC.
For its part, the publication Arasha.kz writes that the victim in the case – businessman Kanat Amirkin – accuses Nurlanov of the raiding takeover of his company "Alataudorstroy" and the extortion of a significant sum of money. According to Amirkin, the arbitrariness case may later be reclassified as raiding and fraud.
Recall that it was reported in early April that the son of Nurlan Nigmatulin – Nurzhan Nurlanov had a criminal case opened against him under the article "Arbitrariness".
