Mountain rescuer Nurbol Nuralin stated that the equipment used by Almaty rescuers is long outdated and does not meet modern safety standards.

Nuralin reported on his Instagram page that Almaty rescue service employees are walking in uncomfortable footwear while at an altitude of 4,000 metres

"These are army boots that are 12 years old. They are not mountain boots. Akimat, give them proper equipment," the statement reads.

In the comments under the post, people supported Nurbol Nuralin and criticised the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is obliged to provide its employees with high-quality gear and reliable equipment.
