In Kazakhstan, there is a high level of public optimism: almost three-quarters of the population (73.3%) believe the country is moving in the right direction

Support for government initiatives is particularly noticeable among young people and women, with more than 76% of Kazakhstani citizens expressing trust in the President. These are the main results of a large-scale sociological study conducted by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies in March-April 2025.

According to the data obtained, the young generation of Kazakhstani citizens shows the highest level of approval for the country's development course — 82% of respondents in the age group 18–29 assess the situation positively. Interestingly, women show greater optimism regarding the country's direction of development (75.3%) than men (71.1%).

An important indicator of public sentiment is citizens' trust in the head of state. The study showed that 76.4% of the population trust the President. Among young people, this figure reaches 84.6%, and among women — 78.1%, which exceeds the level of trust among men (74.5%). No significant differences in the level of trust were found between rural and urban residents — 76.8% and 76.1% respectively.

The long-term prospects for Kazakhstan's development are also assessed positively by citizens: 60.8% of respondents expect positive changes in the next five years. This correlates with a high level of life satisfaction — more than 90% of respondents are to some degree satisfied with their lives (57.3% — "fully satisfied", 32.8% — "rather satisfied").

The study also revealed that the main sources of information about politics, economics and public life for Kazakhstani citizens are online media (30.3%) and social networks (34.7%), which reflects modern trends in information consumption.

The survey was conducted using the method of personal interview (CAPI) from 20 March to 20 April 2025 and covered 8 thousand respondents over the age of 18 from 17 regions and 3 cities of republican significance. The sample reflects the socio-demographic structure of the country's population.

Overall, the study results indicate a predominance of positive sentiment in Kazakhstani society and a high level of trust in state policy. These indicators could serve as a good foundation for the further socio-economic development of the country and the implementation of planned reforms.
