The military parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, which will take place on 7 May at 11:00 on Independence Square near the "Qazaq Eli" monument in Astana, will not be open to ordinary citizens.

According to ORDA, only invited guests — including official delegations, veterans, home front workers, and honoured figures — will be able to watch the ceremonial event in person.

Other residents of Kazakhstan can watch the parade exclusively via live broadcast — on national television channels, LED screens across the country, and on the Ministry of Defence's official YouTube channel.

The ministry noted that the opportunity to see the parade in person was available to all those who wished on 3 and 4 May — during the dress rehearsals.

The decision to restrict public access to the event itself on Defender of the Fatherland Day, as the Ministry of Defence explained, was made jointly with the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Security Committee.

"There are very many people who want to attend. Objectively, a large number of people cannot fit on the square. It would simply be impossible to conduct the parade", the ministry added.

According to official data, more than 4,000 military personnel, over 200 units of ground equipment, and 66 aircraft and helicopters from frontline, army, and military transport aviation will take part in the parade.

2.5 billion tenge were allocated from the state budget for the preparation and conduct of the event. After the parade concludes, festive concerts are planned in the capital.
