In the Aktobe region, a crusher operator died in a mine at the mining enterprise "Aktobe Copper Company".
According to the "Kazinform" International News Agency, the tragedy was caused by a cave-in of ore.
"On 19.09.2024, the State Labour Inspectorate received a report about a work-related accident involving an employee of the Aktobe Copper Company LLP, Nurgaliyev A.S. According to the employer's data, the accident occurred on 18.09.2024 at approximately 22:40 as a result of a cave-in of mine ore onto the crusher operator, Nurgaliyev," the inspectorate reported.
The department noted that the findings of the special investigation into the fatal accident will be recorded in a special investigation report, which will determine the degree of fault of the parties involved.
"In this regard, until the special investigation is completed, any possible versions of the incident are not to be considered official data. We ask interested parties and participants in the accident to refrain from any comments until the special investigation is concluded. The expected completion date of the investigation is 20 October 2024," the department explained.
Recall that earlier it was reported that a worker died in the Orlovskaya mine in the Abay region as a result of a rock fall, and another injured person received medical attention.
On 18 September, in the Zhambyl region, at one of the processing plants of JSC "AK Altynalmas", a worker was buried under rock. Search operations are still ongoing.
On 31 August, in the East Kazakhstan region, at the Irtyshskaya and Artemyevskaya mines, owned by the copper mining company KAZ Minerals, 5 workers died.
In July, at the "Sokolovskaya" mine owned by Eurasian Resources Group in the Kostanay region, a worker died after blasting operations.
In December of last year, a worker died at a mine of the company "Kazakhmys" in the Ulytau region. The tragedy occurred at the "Zhylandy" mine.
A month before this incident, another tragedy occurred at Mine No. 57 of the East Zhezkazgan Mine, part of the same enterprise. A mining foreman died.
In August of last year, in the Karaganda region, a fire broke out on a conveyor belt at the "Kazakhstanskaya" mine of the coal department of JSC "ArcelorMittal Temirtau", where 227 people were present at the time. Five miners died.
