In Aktau, a married couple with over 850,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok and Telegram organised large-scale online lotteries without state registration. This was reported by the press service of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM) department for the Mangystau region.

According to the investigation, the couple did not have the status of a lottery operator but held draws for cars, apartments and other valuable prizes. To participate, users purchased digital "tickets" costing from 500 to 50,000 tenge.

More than 1,800 people took part in the draw. The total amount of income from illegal entrepreneurial activity exceeded 162 million tenge.

As part of the pre-trial investigation, restrictions have been placed on the property and bank accounts of the individuals involved. The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, it was reported that two residents of Almaty were found guilty of organising an illegal gambling business via live streams on TikTok. The court sentenced both: they conducted online games, disguising them as harmless contests, and generated income without the appropriate registration.
