In Almaty, a lawyer from the city bar association, Renat Nainbayev, as well as city residents D. Tuyashev and G. Sakenova, have been convicted.
According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, they were found guilty of fraud and incitement to give a bribe amounting to more than 30 million tenge to government officials under the pretext of legalising a former kindergarten building for residential use.
The court found the city resident Sakenova guilty and sentenced her to 7 years in prison, Tuyashev to 4 years in prison, and Nainbayev to 1 year in prison.
In addition, the convicted individuals were banned for life from holding positions in the civil service and in quasi-public sector entities.
Recall that in November last year, lawyer Arman Zhamenov was convicted in Atyrau, found guilty of fraud and corruption. It was reported that he promised a convicted person to secure parole in exchange for a bribe of 1.3 million tenge.
Of this amount, he planned to keep 300,000 tenge for himself for allegedly providing legal services, and to hand over 1 million tenge as a bribe to employees of the Department of Criminal Executive System and the regional court.
