The Prosecutor's Office of the Burabay District of the Akmola Region has uncovered the illegal provision of a land plot measuring 36 hectares by the land relations department.

According to the press service of the department, the plot was issued for commercial afforestation in a recreational zone intended for rest and recuperation.

Following a prosecutor's supervisory order, the Department for Land Resource Management applied to a specialised inter-district economic court, which declared the lease agreement invalid. As a result, the land, with a cadastral value of 567 million tenge, was reinstated as part of the recreational territory.

This may relate to a recent lawsuit against the alleged brother of the Prime Minister's adviser, Yermek Marzhikpayev - Bolat Marzhikpayev

Earlier, the Vice-Minister of Agriculture, Yerbol Taszhurekov, reported that the lawsuit concerned a sale and purchase agreement concluded between the mayor of Shchuchinsk District and Bolat Boranbayevich Marzhikpayev, as well as an agreement under which the plot was transferred from Bolat Marzhikpayev to businesswoman Maira Kadirzhanovna Nurturina.
