The land management department of Astana, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture, has filed a lawsuit against the company Timur Kulibayev's LLP «Kipros».
According to the Telegram channel «Nege.Aqsha», the claimant demanded the seizure of land that is not being used for its intended purpose.
«The case concerns two plots in the Almaty district of Astana, measuring 0.2732 hectares and 0.0846 hectares. The company acquired them in 2018 for commercial agricultural production, but issues with the development of the plots were only noticed after the January events, in December 2022», the statement reads.
Ultimately, the court ordered the seizure of the land, despite the company stating its intention to lease the plots to the owners of neighbouring land.
However, the process is not yet complete — recently, LLP «Kipros» filed an appeal for the case to be reviewed.
For context, Timur Kulibayev's company LLP «Kipros» was ordered to demolish the «Yuzhnaya» tourist base. This concerns a two-storey house in the Ile-Alatau National Park.
In 2018, «Kipros» received a long-term lease for a plot of land measuring 1.1 hectares for the construction of a tourist complex. However, an inspection by the national park revealed that a countryside guest house was actually located there.
In addition, the Ile-Alatau National Park is demanding the demolition of another guest house belonging to Kulibayev's company. Park representatives believe the property is being used as a private residence.
As early as 2011, LLP «Kipros» received the use of a land plot measuring 2 hectares in the Kokbastau forestry area of the Talgar district. The land was provided for tourism activities, but currently only a guest house stands on the plot.
Furthermore, it was previously reported that Timur Kulibayev's companies are disposing of assets by channelling them into LLP «Kipros».
For context, through LLP «Kipros», Kulibayev holds stakes in LLP Emdeu Group, Joint Technologies, PetroRetail, Viled Group, LLP «Kazakhstan Aviation Industry» and the «Qamqor Management» group, which services KTZ.
